Hi Dave, Filter>Other>Highpass is the trick. When the paintings pretty well finished...then flattening the image, duplicate the flattened layer, turn it to overlay mode and do a High Pass filter (usually a radius of 1-2 pixels). What's nice is it only sharpens edges and you can play with adding a layer mask and push/pull the effect where it is best suited. Thanks
